1. Select the item for which you want to create a custom design state
2. Select the style tab at the top of the screen (selected automatically on selection by default)
3. Click the States button on the far left of the toolbar.
4. Click the New button located in the Custom States section of the menu
5. Select the desired conditions for your custom state and click Apply
